Ahistoric milestone for Turkey’s creative industry has been achieved: Organic Film, together with TBWA\Istanbul and CarrefourSA, proudly brought home Turkey’s first-ever Gold Lion in the Design category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025.
The award-winning work, titled “Ghost Town,” stood out with its bold concept, emotional storytelling, and visually poetic execution. Directed by Yiğit Karagöz, the film and installation drew attention to a critical environmental issue the danger of “ghost nets”, abandoned fishing nets that continue to trap and kill marine life long after being discarded.
This special build draped actual ghost nets over an abandoned fishing village a beautiful yet haunting installation that raised awareness not only about the threats to fish, but also to the fishing villages and communities that depend on them.
This moment is more than an award it’s a testament to the power of collaboration and trust.
